UEFA Euro 2020 postponed until June 2021

The long awaited emergency meeting of UEFA  executives in response to the pandemic Coronavirus held today.




One of the most important decisions was the staging of the Euro 2020 in June in regards to the covid-19 deadly outbreak across the globe.




The tournament, Euro 2020 was scheduled to take place in 12 different venues across Europe, from the 12th of June to 12th July, but has now been postponed till the coming year, 2021.

The UEFA Nations League previously scheduled for June 2021, will be moved to another date.




With these developments, other leagues across Europe may be able to complete the 2019/2020 season depending on the outcome of their various decisions and meetings.




New dates for UEFA champions league and Europa league will be announced in due course.

The English premier league would hold a stakeholders meeting on Thursday to decide what happens to the 2019/2020 league.
