Food: Quality versus Quantity

Food quality is the quality characteristics of food, this includes external factors as appearance (size, shape, colour, gloss, and consistency), texture, and flavour. In Nigeria, most especially it has to do with the richness of the food and the ingredients used for the food




Food quantity on the other hand is how much food you choose to eat at one time, whether in a restaurant, from a package, or home, depending on your age, weight, whether you are male or female, and how active you are.




Some people prefer to eat large quantity of food not minding the quality all to get the stomach fill and sometimes economic situations does not allow for one to consider the quality of the food. It’s Practically not their fault but it is important to note that the quality of food you eat matters a lot to your well being.

The main reason individuals choose particular foods is because they like the taste and sometimes the quality of the food determines the taste of the food. There are some ingredients you can use in preparing your meal which are not that expensive yet can make the food have good quality and also healthy for consumption, they are: vegetables, seafood, Animal produce etc. so think quality and not quantity today.
